Dr. Bhattarai performs cutting-edge research in the fascinating areas of biomaterials, nanomedicine and tissue engineering. He started this research around 2001, and for more than two decades, has immensely contributed to this emerging field. He established a brand-new Biomaterials research laboratory at N.C. A&T. He has pioneered experimental works in areas of bio-nanomaterials, biodegradable polymers, tissue engineering, nanofibers and hydrogels. In his current research, he is developing innovative methodologies to design 3D fibrous scaffolds for wound healing and drug delivery, and cell spheroids for high through put toxicity study and tissue engineering research. Impact of his novel research stems from his impressive scholarly productivity. Dr. Bhattarai published five book chapters, nine Patent-Disclosures, over 100 peer-reviewed articles, and over 90 conference abstracts.
